After watching the first movie Jordan Peele directed, I have a few things to say.
Get Out was amazing!
Before going to see it on March 4, Rotten Tomatoes had it rated at a 99 percent. I would make the case to put it at 100, where it was before someone had to be a Debbie Downer.
There were so many references that one person could not process immediately, but once a group of people start to converse about the various aspects of the movie, it makes for great conversation.
I recommend going to see the movie with someone else so you can discuss the different things you will pick up on. IF, by some chance you spoil the movie for yourself, as I did with Moonlight. Go see it anyway.
For this to be a first for the comedian Peele, he knocked it out of the park. When I first left the theater, I thought it was alright. Once I got home to discuss the subplots and messages I saw, I became more intrigued with it.
This is one of those movies that can easily be shown to a high school class due to the nature of the various teaching points.
Use an open mind when viewing this film if you happen to not be an African-American. If you are part of an interracial relationship, this movie should cover pretty much any base that hasn’t already been covered.
Peace. Love. Back to my episodes of Key and Peele.
